What led you to where you are today?

Before 12 Tides, I spent years in the traditional seafood industry, including large-scale commercial fishing and aquaculture, and I saw many of the negative impacts of our food system on the ocean. I looked for foods that we can produce in the ocean that are as good for the ocean as they are for us - like kelp! Today, we are supporting regenerative ocean farming and ocean restoration projects around the world, including the reforestation of California's natural kelp.

What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?

I wish I had set the right expectations on how long it takes to build a great product and brand. Nothing happens overnight!
