Not eligible

The Awards are for consumer products only: food, beverages, wellness and supplements, personal care and beauty, fashion, and household and lifestyle goods. Services, apps and restaurants can't be entered.

Question 2 of 5

Does anything in the product, or used to make it, come from an animal at any stage?

Watch for honey, beeswax, dairy, eggs, gelatin, carmine, bone char (used to filter some sugar), animal-based fining agents (used in some wine and beer), lanolin, leather, wool, silk and down. A "may contain" warning because of shared equipment is fine.

Ingredients made by precision fermentation are fine, as long as nothing else in the product comes from an animal.

Not eligible

Every product in the Awards has to meet a fully animal-free standard. Nothing in it, or used to make it, can come from an animal at any stage.

Check first

Ask your suppliers before you enter, including how any sugar is filtered and how any wine or beer is fined. Once you know nothing comes from an animal, run the check again.

Has the product, or any of its ingredients, been tested on animals?

This covers testing by you, anyone working for you and your suppliers.

Not eligible

Products and their ingredients can't be tested on animals, whether by you, anyone working for you or your suppliers.

Check first

Confirm with your suppliers that none of your ingredients were tested on animals, then run the check again.

Is the product made with cultivated (cell-cultured) animal cells?

These are cells taken from an animal and grown, for example cultivated meat, seafood or fat, or lab-grown leather.

Not eligible

Products made with cultivated animal cells can't be entered in the Awards, because the cells come from an animal.

Has this exact product been in the VEGPRENEUR Awards before?

Already a winner

A product that has already won a VEGPRENEUR Award can't be entered again. You can still enter other products from your brand.

Your product looks eligible

Based on your answers, this product fits the Awards rules. Our team confirms final eligibility once your entry is in.

Supplements: check your capsules and coatings too. Gelatin capsules, shellac glazes and vitamin D3 made from lanolin all come from animals.
