Founder Spotlight: Brittany Arnett of Arame
Meet Brittany Arnett
Brittany Arnett spent her early career as a beauty buyer at Bloomingdale's, surrounded by skincare she loved, then dreaded the part of her routine that came first: brushing her teeth. Arame is her answer. The New York brand treats oral care like skincare, with clean, dentist-backed products designed to make brushing a ritual rather than a chore. Its debut lineup, The Paste and The Polish, is vegan and cruelty-free, and the name nods to Arnett's Aramean heritage and ancient Mesopotamia, one of the first civilizations to take oral hygiene seriously.

What led you to where you are today?
Hating my oral care routine, but loving my skincare routine! As a former beauty buyer, I love the ritual of caring for my skin, but always dreaded the part that came before — brushing my teeth. To change that, I wanted to create products that actually made brushing your teeth feel like a ritual, not a chore.
What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?
You cannot compare your journey to anyone else's journey. There's a ton of founder-led content out there — podcasts, social media, blogs, etc. — and while they can provide some valuable insights and thought-starters, trying to mimic their success won't get you there. Every founder is different, and success comes in many forms.
What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far?
Pre-launch, I had to make the difficult call to delay our launch entirely based on some early stability test results — nothing that would cause harm to our customers, but might result in a lesser customer experience with our packaging. It was so frustrating at the time (I had spent 5 years building the business, and felt so close to the finish line of launch), but I'm so glad we went back to re-develop our products and launch properly with the right foot forward.
What can you help the VEGPRENEUR community with?
I love content — I'm also a food creator with over 250K followers (@toastedtable) — and I especially love creating content ideas with fellow founders. If you ever need some content help, whether it be strategy or tips, I'm here
How can the VEGPRENEUR community help you?
I'm looking for early-stage fundraising help, and would love any advice on the process (angels, F&F, pre-seed... what did you choose and why?).
Fun fact about you:
I don't know how to ride a bike (I'm 29), but I love a good SoulCycle class.
