Meet  Massimo Susinno

After more than 30 years running brands inside multinational food companies, Massimo Susinno decided the most rewarding work was building something from scratch. With his partner Guido, he launched TesoroBio in Milan, a line of Italian organic, plant-based ready-made sauces designed to be genuinely inclusive: so clean that anyone can eat them without reading the label. Each recipe is organic, vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, free from major allergens, and made with no added sugar and just five ingredients. The current range spans a plant-based pesto, a light ragù, and a sugo al basilico, all built to prove that health and taste don't have to be a trade-off.

What led you to where you are today?

TesoroBio started from the shared vision of Massimo Susinno and his partner Guido, who wanted to create a new generation of ready-made sauces that could be enjoyed by virtually everyone, regardless of dietary restrictions. After more than 30 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, they identified a gap in the market for products that combined organic ingredients, plant-based nutrition, allergen-free formulations, gluten-free recipes, and no added sugars, without compromising on taste.

What are you most proud of?

I'm proudest of having turned a simple idea, making great-tasting food accessible to everyone regardless of dietary preferences or restrictions, into a real brand. In less than two years, we developed and launched a range of organic, inclusive sauces that combine taste, nutrition, and sustainability, proving that consumers don't have to compromise between health and enjoyment.

What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?

After spending more than 30 years in multinational food companies, I knew how products were launched with large budgets and extensive resources. What surprised me was how much creativity, resilience, and persistence are required when you're building a brand from scratch. Every customer, every retailer, and every new listing feels like a significant achievement, and that makes the journey especially rewarding.

How can the VEGPRENEUR community help you?

Through VEGPRENEUR, we hope to connect with like-minded founders, investors, distributors, and industry experts who share a passion for accelerating the growth of plant-based food. We are looking for opportunities to learn from others who have successfully scaled food brands, gain access to strategic partnerships and funding opportunities, and become part of a community that supports innovation and collaboration. Ultimately, we want to contribute to and benefit from a network that is helping shape the future of sustainable and inclusive food.

Fun fact about you:

People are often surprised that I'm more excited today about building a startup than I was when managing large brands in multinational companies. After decades in corporate leadership, I discovered that creating something new from the ground up is both the most demanding and the most rewarding work I've ever done.
