Bramble, the world’s first vet-formulated, plant-based fresh food for dogs, has taken the top prize at Global Pet Expo’s Best In Show, winning 1st Place in the show’s most competitive category, Dog Food and Treats. Backed by celebrity investors, such as Seven-Time Formula One World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, Bramble is transforming nutrition for pets with a whole food, plant-based approach. Free from all common pet food allergens, Bramble provides a high-quality, fresh food option for all dogs, including those with allergies and food sensitivities.

Dog health and longevity are central to the brand’s identity, which is named Bramble after the once longest-living dog that followed a fresh, vegan diet. A first-of-its-kind independent feeding trial conducted by Kelly Swanson, professor in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois, tested the digestibility of Bramble’s two human-grade plant-based formulas and yielded incredible results. Bramble’s diets were shown to be as highly digestible as premium animal-based diets, while Bramble also improved gut health and significantly lowered triglycerides and cholesterol.

β€œOne thing to remember is that animals don’t have ingredient requirements; they have nutrient requirements. As long as they’re consuming the essential nutrients in the correct amounts and ratios, dogs can be vegan, vegetarian, or meat-eaters,” Swanson says.

Pet industry insiders convened in Orlando, Florida, last week for the pet industry’s leading trade show event, Global Pet Expo. Bramble released three new recipes in the New Products Showcase, which grabbed the show’s top prize for Best In Show. Bramble’s plant-based recipes contain more high-quality protein than most animal-based commercial pet food. But 10% of dogs suffer from chronic kidney disease, which can be managed, in part, by nutrition. Kidney-friendly diets typically contain less protein than regular dog foods so that the kidneys will not have to work as hard filtering out waste products in the blood from protein metabolism. Formulated by board-certified veterinary nutritionists, Bramble released a new line of kidney-friendly recipes that are lower in protein and phosphorus at the industry trade show.

Founded in 2021, Bramble provides veterinary-formulated, human-grade, plant-based fresh food and treats without sacrificing the savory tastes, textures, and enjoyment dogs deserve. Amanda Rolat, dog mom and former attorney, created Bramble when she was unable to find an allergen-free, human-grade fresh pet food. Bramble ensures dogs receive a complete and balanced diet that exceeds the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) standards.

β€œI’m so humbled by this recognition and excited for more dogs to be able to benefit from Bramble,” says Amanda Rolat, Founder and CEO of Bramble. β€œI created Bramble because I truly believe that all dogs can benefit from an expertly formulated plant-based fresh food. It’s easy to digest, clean protein that is nutritionally-packed and especially helpful for dogs with animal protein allergies and sensitive tummies. Along with our feeding trial, being awarded Best In Show at Global Pet Expo further demonstrates the benefits of feeding Bramble.”

Along with Bramble’s new line of kidney-friendly recipes, the company also debuted a third fresh food option, The Wharf. The new recipes join the company’s current two premium dog food options: The Cowbell and The Roost. With no preservatives or synthetic vitamins and minerals, Bramble carefully sources its ingredients and organic proteins in the USA and gently cooks all recipes in small batches before freezing to ensure maximum nutrition. A small box includes 13 sixteen-ounce packs ($130), while an extra-large box includes 38 sixteen-ounce packs ($380). In addition to Bramble’s fresh dog food offerings, the company’s product lines include three organic, human-grade treat options: Maple Bac’n, Carob Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato & Peanut Butter. Formulated with the same ideals and goals as their fresh food, Bramble’s treats focus on superior ingredients and health, while maintaining all the decadent tastes and enjoyment we want for our pets.

ABOUT BRAMBLE

Bramble is the first vet-formulated, 100% plant-based, fresh food option for dogs - founded by dog mom and former attorney, Amanda Rolat, when a vet recommended a plant-based diet for Amanda’s allergy-prone dog, but she couldn’t find a human-grade fresh food option that aligned with her values about health, ingredients, and well-being. Bramble claimed the top prize at Global Pet Expo’s 2026 Best In Show, winning 1st place in the leading trade show’s most competitive category, Dog Food and Treats.
