What led you to where you are today?

When I married the love of my life, Samina, in 2021, we hatched the idea for Daltas after visiting her family in Hunza. In the mountains north of Pakistan, women farmers cultivate ancient varieties of fruits and nuts by hand, using glacier water for irrigation. Promoting and protecting these communities is the mission of Daltas.

What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?

The value and power of social media. As a person deeply rooted within the technology industry, being an active member of social media never appealed to me; I always chose to unplug after a day of work. I've come to understand the pivotal role played by social media in advancing the mission of Daltas by sharing our story with a global audience.

What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far?

Decision-making for Daltas has not been difficult up to this point. With a clear mission and drive to go into business for myself, coupled with an amazing partner, the decision to quit my day job and bootstrap Daltas was easy to make.

What can you help the VEGPRENEUR community with?

Sharing my small business experience and technical expertise with startups. For me, starting a business was straightforward, but for many, this journey can be scary. I can help founders get started.

How can the VEGPRENEUR community help you?

Connecting Daltas with buyers and investors, promoting the brand and its message, and helping steer Daltas through the startup stages. Creating a food business comes with its unique challenges. The experience of VEGPRENEUR community members will help focus Daltas' efforts on growing the brand.
