Store Manager at Third Culture Deli

THE ROLE:

As our Store Manager, you’ll lead by example on the floor, holding the standard on coffee, keeping the team motivated, and making sure every guest walks out having had a genuinely great experience. You’ll be hands-on: behind the bar, across operations, and invested in the long-term shape of the space. This isn’t a back-office role. You’ll work directly with our head chef on menu development, manage day-to-day operations end to end, and be the person the team looks to for direction, energy, and a calm hand when it matters.

YOU WILL:

• Pull exceptional espresso and dial in confidently on our La Marzocco Linea PB

• Develop and evolve our signature drinks menu – seasonal, creative, and rooted in specialty coffee knowledge

• Brew pour over and filter coffee to a high standard; bring genuine knowledge of origins, processing, and flavour

• Carry out routine maintenance on espresso machines and grinders, and troubleshoot day-to-day faults

• Deliver latte art consistently and with pride as it matters here

• Lead day-to-day operations: stock, inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships

• Build and manage the weekly ROTA, balancing team needs with the business

• Work directly with the head chef and founders to develop and refine our food and drinks menu

• Lead, support, and energise a small team of 3–4, keeping morale high and the culture intact

• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation across the whole space

• Work to reduce waste, make sure food, drinks, service is consistent

• Own financial performance: work to meet sales goals, P&L oversight, labour cost management, and short-term forecasting

• Build community presence and nurture regulars, support events, and help strengthen the café’s identity in the neighbourhood

• Report directly to the owners; stay proactive, flag issues early, and think ahead

YOU HAVE:

• At least 3 years of café or restaurant management experience

• Enthusiasm and respect for plant based food and drinks

• Confident barista skills: strong espresso technique, dialling in, and consistent latte art

• Knowledge of specialty coffee, origins, varietals, roast profiles, and brew ratios

• Hands-on experience with La Marzocco machines (Linea PB or similar) and grinder maintenance

• A track record of managing a team, a rota, and a busy floor at the same time

• Financial capability across P&L, labour costs, and forecasting

• The right to work full-time in the UK

• Weekend availability

YOU ARE:

• A confident, hands-on leader, you’re not above the mop or the grinder, and you stay close to the details

• Commercially minded: you understand how great operations, quality, and community translate to a healthy business

• Genuinely passionate about specialty coffee and plant-based food

• Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and ready to get stuck in

• A natural communicator who brings warmth and consistency to every interaction, with guests and team alike

• Values-led: you care about people, craft, and the kind of place Third Culture Deli is trying to be

• Aligned with veganism principles and values – being vegan is not a must, but you must respect it and understand how to operate within a vegan space and interact with vegan customers
