Black-Owned Texas Based Vegan Brand’s New Test Kitchen First to Offer Vegan Italian Cuisine in the San Antonio Market

San Antonio, TX (January 11, 2023) – Black-owned Texas based vegan brand Rooted Vegan Cuisine, founded by Naomi Hendrix Oyegoke and co-owned with her husband Olugbemiga “Mike” Oyegoke, has opened Rooted Vegan Cuisine Test Kitchen in San Antonio. The Test Kitchen features restaurant quality vegan Italian cuisine for takeout, delivery, and national shipping, as well as merchandise for purchase. This is the first vegan Italian cuisine concept to debut in San Antonio, with all dishes free from dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish and other animal products. Most dishes have gluten free options as well.

“I have always loved Italian food and have been shocked by the lack of options for vegan Italian cuisine in the area,” said Naomi Oyegoke. “I would often complain to friends about how there was nothing like this being offered in San Antonio, so we decided to create it ourselves. Rooted Vegan Cuisine’s Test Kitchen invites people to come sample our dishes, order for takeout, and check out our amazing merchandise. We also make everything available for the rest of the country, through national shipping.”

The new Rooted Vegan Cuisine Test Kitchen menu features starters like Bruschetta; Olive Tapenade; Garlic Bread; Mozzarella Sticks, Stuffed Mushrooms; and an Antipasti Platter. Soups include Zuppa Toscano; Minestrone; and Broccoli Cheese. Salads options include RVC House Greens; STL Tossed Italian and RVC Cesar. Entrees include the Signature Lasagna; Spinach Manicotti; Eggplant Parmesan Linguini Alfredo; Spinach & Shroom; and Pappardelle Bolognese. On the sweeter side, dessert options include Ricciarelli Cookies and Banana Bread.

Drink offerings include Spring Water, Sparkling Water and RVC Lemonade, with the option of adding “Love Bombs” for flavor. Priced at just 25 cents apiece, these Love Bombs are RVC frozen hearts made from puree and juices, exploding with flavors like Pineapple Jalapeno; Very Strawberry; Cherry Berry; Creamy Coconut; Sweet Basil; Minty Fresh; Orange Cream; and Lime Zest.

Guests also have the option to purchase items like half and full loaves of bread, salad dressings, sauces, and garlic butter.
