When did you launch the business?
April 2018
What led you to where you are today?
The conviction that eating well and indulging in foods that we enjoy can be done in a way that aligns with our ethics. The belief that we can all make positive changes in our lives, whether bold or subtle, and that those changes have a considerable effect on others and on the planet.
What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?
I wish that I knew how consuming entrepreneurship would be! I wouldn't change it for the world, but I wish I would have known that when you start a business, you live, eat and breathe it, 24/7. There is no clocking off after a day's work, it just doesn't work that way. If I had known that, I would have managed my time better and had more realistic expectations for myself.
What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far?
The decision to pursue equity crowdfunding was a huge decision that we didn't take lightly. We knew that it would permanently change our business in several ways, and it has. And we're very glad that we did it.
What can you help the VEGPRENEUR community with?
I would love to help other budding entrepreneurs in any way that I can! I'm not sure how much expertise that I can offer, but happy to help however possible.
How can the VEGPRENEUR community help you?
Just being able to be a part of such a passionate and mission-aligned community is so valuable, I'm just happy to be here and connect to others.
Fun fact about you:
I was a photographer before I was a cheesemaker, and I dream of respectfully documenting remote cultures and creatures around the world.
Anything else you would like to share?
I'm so excited to see where plant-based food is headed, what a time to be alive!
