When did you launch the business?

March 2022

What led you to where you are today?

Being a vegan of 15 years in Iceland, where 40% of GDP is fishing, it's hard to not see the needed change in the food industry for the sake of our oceans and planet. We've decimated the oceans and to reverse it we need mature alternative seafood that tastes, cooks, and feels like traditional seafood, while being nutritionally superior.

What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?

Not much to be honest! I know timing is everything and, though I waited 18 months to start this company, I know that things tend to happen when they're ready to happen. It's a hard journey, but the world needs impact entrepreneurs and innovators now more than ever.

What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far?

The most difficult decision was to turn away potential investors because our visions of the future of food and climate needs do not align.

What can you help the VEGPRENEUR community with?

Community and Support. The sustainable food space may be taking off more and more, but it's still a rather small community. And in the face of so much misunderstanding and lack of urgency in societies to change our food systems, it can be an incredibly lonely island.

How can the VEGPRENEUR community help you?

Community and Support. Like I said it being a lonely island, in my 15-20 years as a plant-based consumer - and on an actual lonely island - I understand the necessity of community.

Fun fact about you:

I finished my PhD at the age of 25 and my daughter was already two-years old!
