What led you to where you are today?
After becoming vegan, I craved the familiar flavors of my family's delis from my youth. I began experimenting in my kitchen and trying out the recipes on my vegan and meat-eating family and friends. This quickly led to my shopping around my first product and getting placed in all the major LA delis, which caught the attention of Whole Foods and Veggie Grill eventually landing me on Shark Tank where I got an investment from Mark Cuban, who recently went vegetarian himself, for more than double what I asked for! We took revenue from $10k in profits to $100k shortly thereafter and continue to grow. Cuban expects our company to grow into a $50M business!
What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?
It's okay not to know everything coming out the gate, you can learn on the job. If you keep showing up with love and enthusiasm, that will open more doors than knowledge and expertise alone.
What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far?
In the R&D development arena, what new products to pursue.
