Based in Harlem, Sweet Vegan is a woman-owned chocolate company on a mission to make indulgence inclusive. Founded in 2019 by Andrea Young, Sweet Vegan creates gourmet chocolates that are dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free, and preservative-free—crafted for anyone who truly loves chocolate.
Andrea’s journey to chocolate-making is as rich as her truffles. With a background in interior architecture and design, she combined her creative eye with a lifelong passion for food, rooted in childhood memories of cooking alongside her grandmother in Indiana. Later, training at the Natural Kitchen Cooking School in New York and working as a private chef—including for world-renowned artist Peter Max—helped her hone her craft and embrace a plant-based lifestyle.
Today, Sweet Vegan isn’t just about chocolate—it’s about community. Andrea is dedicated to empowering the next generation through entrepreneurship and sustainability education, while proving that chocolate can be both decadent and nourishing.
