The Days Sustainable Apparel originated through an introspective thought process of making your days count. With elements of minimalist design, luscious color, and repurposed materials, The Days is a brand you can wear kindly. Each piece is made to last, and all crafted from up-cycled materials and plant-based textiles. Owner Alexa studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and discovered a passion for ethical practices in sourcing and treatment of employees. A small company that began three years ago has grown into The Days Sustainable Apparel - she and her husband Shaun are opening their first storefront in Cape May this March of 2022 - making the brand the first woman-owned, sustainable, ethically made in the USA apparel store in the state of New Jersey!

The Days brand mission is sustainability and perpetuates a vision for men and women who place sustainable practices at the forefront of their daily lives. Alexa uses her brand to educate and leads with a moral compass. It’s not just about running a business but making a difference, purchasing with purpose, and considering the future of our delicate environment. All materials are sourced from the North East and US-based factories which Alexa works closely with to curate the brand and provide transparency in her manufacturing practices. Alexa says, “The best part about this job is that these talented artisans become friends, we are all working towards the same goal of producing quality, slow fashion and it’s a great feeling.”

Alexa’s clothing and accessories are all made from upcycled and/or plant-based materials such as hemp, lyocell, and soy. Upcycled materials being post-consumer industrial byproducts, headstock fabric, and scraps from last season’s clothing production. Pro Tip: The Days also offers an in-store circular fashion program, WORN & REBORN where you can donate your gently used swimwear or beach towels in exchange for a 10% off discount. In turn, Alexa will use these old items to regenerate them into something new - scrunchies from swimwear and hat/shorts from beach towels have been a favorite lately. Be sure to stop in if you are in the area or are planning your next vacation in Cape May! We also recently featured Alexa on our Founder Spotlight.
