What led you to where you are today?

Oat Butter was birthed in my kitchen when I made the decision to have a better relationship with food and take responsibility for what my future will look like. I was in foster care at a young age and I did not have access to the basic healthy and nutritious food every child should have. I was never taught how to eat and why taking care of my body was so important.

What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?

I wish I would have planned for a successful launch. I ran out of materials very quickly. I also would have save a lot more so that I could financially scale the business since most small business loans are for companies and startups that have been in business for at least a year.

What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far?

Turning down a lot of opportunities with other vendors and retailers and even slowing down sales to make sure I am streamlining business practices now before scaling up.

What can you help the VEGPRENEUR community with?

I can help with launching successful brands, social media, PR, and community building/retention. I also have a background in HR - a company is only as good as its employees.

How can the VEGPRENEUR community help you?

Funding, but more importantly, getting the word out about the brand! :)

I have never done a food business before and I conceptualized Oat Butter in April 2020, launched in July 2020!
