Swiss vegan chicken startup Planted spent today attempting and then breaking the world Guinness record with the longest vegan chicken ‘Schnitzel’ in the world. Planted shared the following on their website: “We are attempting something special for the beginning of our Opening Event at Kemptthal: Planted is challenging a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD: Longest Vegan Schnitzel on the planet. Join us for a special celebration of (plant-based) schnitzel-making, a world record, opening days of our factory in Kemptthal - and enjoy tasty food and delicious drinks with our friends & our team.”

Planted just turned two years old in July and operates in 4 countries with 100 employees. Planted’s story began when co-founder Pascal was working in the USA in 2017. There he became aware of all the different types of alternative protein products available on the market. Next he got in touch with his cousin, who at the time was completing his doctorate in food process engineering.

Planted was launched in 2018 at ETH, a Zurich based university. Today, Planted is famous for its clean-label and all-natural plant-based chicken products. Their chicken and newly released pulled pork products have between 3-4 ingredients and are produced from peas. The team also recently raised an additional $19 million USD in funding for its upcoming expansion to London.
