Founder Spotlight: Veronica Garcia-Arteaga (Neggst Foods)

Meet Veronica Garcia-Arteaga:

Neggst Foods

We are one of the world’s first companies to have created an egg alternative with both components; egg yolk and egg white, and even a biodegradable shell, offering the full eggsperience - whether scrambled, cooked, baked, or fried as a sunny side up. The nutritional values, taste, and versatility are very close to the animal-based counterpart. Just a little better, as we have no allergens, no GMOs, no gluten, no cholesterol, and no salmonella. That’s why Neggst is also safe to eat for vulnerable groups, making it the perfect alternative to chicken eggs without missing out on your favorite egg dishes.

When did you launch the business?

2021

What led you to where you are today?

First of all, the amazing example of my parents as entrepreneurs themselves. Second, I have always been passionate about food and health and I have always been curious about how food products are produced on a big scale. Third, I had lots of pets during my childhood and grew up far from nature so it has made me appreciate it even more and I have respect and a sense of responsibility to take care of the environment and animals.

What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?

How to deal with investors, how to say no more often, and how to stand even stronger for what I believe is best.

What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far?

To let go of some amazing team members because of the complicated market situation.

What can you help the VEGPRENEUR community with?

We want to show that there is still a lot of potential for plant-based innovation and even if bringing a new product to the market sounds like a big challenge, it’s definitely worth the effort.

How can the VEGPRENEUR community help you?

We are always happy to connect with other founders and a community of like-minded people, have conversations, and learn from each other.

Fun fact about you:

I love to eat french fries with ice cream.

Anything else you would like to share?

The important thing is to take baby steps toward improvement. All of us can make small changes that allow us to improve our relationship with the environment, the animals, our health, and with other people. Empathy is the biggest value we need to practice if we want to see big changes.
