Vegan footwear designed by women in NYC and made by artisans in Italy.

What is Sylth Virago?
Sylth Virago was created in 2019 by two friends, Danielle Goldman and Athanasia Diamantis-Svec. As fashionistas and animal lovers, they found it frustrating to find “gorgeous products that were created ethically; without harm to animals or the environment.” To solve this market gap, they brought on designer Kyle Blackmon to bring their vision to life. Celebrities like Idina Menzel, Cassie, and Paula Abdul have since been spotted wearing their shoes.
Are these shoes sustainable?
Footwear production has a tremendous impact on our planet so the team has taken it upon itself to limit the environmental footprint of their shoes as much as possible by avoiding the disastrous impact animal leather has on our environment. Their 100% animal free and PETA approved shoes can make you rest easy at night!
How It Compares + My Thoughts:
I couldn’t believe these shoes were vegan when I first tried them on. The material of each pair I tried on felt durable and comfortable. A lot of the vegan leather alternatives have a reputation for feeling like cheap plastic. Not these though. You can really tell a lot of thought went into the design and production process.
I was also really impressed by the detail in many of the pairs’ designs, from the unconventional heel designs and gold and beaded details to the bold colors. They are statement items.
These shoes are luxury items (prices range from $270-$900+). That said, if splurging on fashion items is your prerogative, I think Sylth Virago is a great option for sustainable and animal-free alternatives!
