What led you to where you are today?
Essentially, the need for higher quality products that are better for us in a familiar and accessible format. For me, it was all about our Korean roots being an immigrant family and the frequency that ramen was consumed (enjoyed) - it's such a staple. During the pandemic, my co-workers and I were getting together to start a side hustle for fun, and while we were testing ideas I thought about my health & wellness journey, and how it was hugely impacted by my mother and her battle with cancer. How there was a moment in time when I was not able to serve her a single warm meal that she could enjoy, inspired the idea to bring the nostalgic staple back in a much better-for-you way.
What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?
I wish I had an opportunity to speak with mentors and entrepreneurs in the CPG industry before I got started.
What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far?
It was deciding to move forward with the launch regardless of major financial or product development setbacks. Honestly, going live with our product after the entire process of R&D, development, design, and completion of the products - just finally saying let's do this and pressing GO. So I guess … taking the dive.
What can you help the VEGPRENEUR community with?
You know, Rawmyun was inspired by my mother - which is why we say “for you umma” on every cup. Every cup represents that warm bowl of something that I wished my mother would have enjoyed. I’ve realized over time, that the folks in this space really mean well for the everyday consumers, and I want to do my part to bring more people up and use my platform as a force for good.
How can the VEGPRENEUR community help you?
I am always looking for mentors/advisors and collaborations.
Fun fact about you:
I am a rockstar banker at a major bank.
