Swiss Supermarket Launches Hard-Boiled Vegan Egg In Stores

Meet the first hard-boiled egg to hit the shelves of Swiss supermarkets next week.

The Swiss food and supermarket giant Migros is looking to make waves in the plant-based food world. Next week they’re launching what many consider the first realistic looking and tasting plant-based hard-boiled egg in major cities across Switzerland. The egg is primarily made from soy protein (it has a total of 14 ingredients) and is priced at 4.40 Swiss francs for a pack of four. In Switzerland, this is roughly 50 percent pricier than the price of a six-pack of eggs at 2.95 Swiss francs. This is just the latest product in the ever-growing Migros’s ‘V-Love’ product line. Migros has signaled that it is serious about vegan food and worked on the egg for around 3 years with close to 20 partners.
