Off the beaten path, this punk bar offers a thrilling, eerie ambiance that’s perfect for anyone drawn to the darker side of things. It was past midnight, and we were starving. Being my first time in Denver, I searched online for vegan spots still open. To my surprise, the late-night scene here is amazing, with plenty of options! As soon as I stepped into The Crypt, I knew I’d found something special, a place where food meets nostalgia in a completely unexpected way.

The Vegan Poutine Fries are a must—crispy potatoes smothered in vegan gravy finished off with gooey vegan provolone. If you're after something with a little more punch, the Korean BBQ Fried Tofu hits the spot with its crispy tofu, tangy BBQ sauce, creamy slaw, and a soft brioche bun to round it all off. It’s clear The Crypt takes vegan comfort food seriously, delivering dishes that are both satisfying and surprising.

The setting only adds to the experience. Dimly lit hallways lined with vintage horror posters lead you deeper into the bar, where you’ll find a stage emblazoned with “Welcome to Queen City / Time to Die.” In a corner, a figure wearing a bright red t-shirt and quirky hat shoots pool—definitely a nod to a familiar horror character who seems to frequent the place. The whole scene feels like a mix of fun and eerie, making the dining experience feel like stepping into a movie set.
