The Most Vegan-Friendly NFL Stadiums

Written by Justin Cross

This may come as a shocker but finding plant-based foods while attending a game that's played with a ball made of pig skin can be challenging. However, not all NFL teams and their respective vegan options are created equally.

I've broken up all 32 NFL teams into three tiers based on how abundant their vegan-friendly stadium food options are. Those marked with an asterisk allow you to bring in your own grub -- jackfruit sliders and carrot dogs, of course.

And on a personal note, as a lifelong Jacksonville Jaguars fan, I have to say that our dearth of vegan options, somehow, is more disappointing than the results my team has shown on the field over the past 20 years. Silver lining: Their clear bag food policy does allow you to bring in your own tailgate tofu!

So, without further ado, here are the Big Game contenders, playoff hopefuls, and those who will hopefully have a brighter future next season.

Big Game Contenders

Highlights:

Seattle has vegan curry (if you fancy!). Minnesota has a vegan sloppy Joe (a midwestern thing, maybe?). LA has a vegan cheesecake (if only Philly had a vegan cheesesteak). But Detroit, well, they are a Big Game contender in both football and vegan food.

  • Los Angeles Rams (SoFi Stadium)

  • Los Angeles Charger (SoFI Stadium)

  • Las Vegas Raiders (Allegiant Stadium)

  • San Francisco 49ers (Levi's Stadium) *

  • Minnesota Vikings (U.S. Bank Stadium)

  • Atlanta Falcons (Mercedes-Benz Stadium)

  • New England Patriots (Gillette Stadium)

  • Seattle Seahawks (Lumen Field) *

  • Dallas Cowboys (AT&T Stadium)

  • Detroit Lions (Ford Field)

  • Denver Broncos (Empower Field at Mile High) *

    * Those marked with an asterisk allow you to bring in your own food

Playoff Hopefuls

Highlights:

Much like a couple of these teams’ stadiums, those listed here could use some work on their vegan offerings. With that said, each stadium has something to work with. In Kansas City, it’s a Beyond Burger (no bun). In Green Bay, it's also a Beyond Burger. But in Baltimore, it’s -- oh wait -- a Beyond Burger.

  • Tennessee Titans (Nissan Stadium)

  • Indianapolis Colts (Lucas Oil Stadium)

  • Baltimore Ravens (M&T Stadium) *

  • Arizona Cardinals (State Farm Stadium)

  • Miami Dolphins (Hard Rock Stadium)

  • Washington Commanders (FedEx Field)

  • Green Bay Packers (Lambeau Field)

  • Chicago Bears (Soldier Field) *

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Raymond James Stadium)

  • Philadelphia Eagles (Lincoln Financial Field)

  • Kansas City Chiefs (GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium)

There’s Always Next Year

Highlights:

We really hope you like tailgating. And don’t have a peanut allergy (one of the very few vegan options besides water). Maybe the most disappointing of all 32 teams is MetLife Stadium, the home stadium for the New York Giants and the New York Jets. You’d think with New York’s culinary reputation, the vegan options would be abundant – but no kidding, the best they have is a freaking fruit cup. Dad joke: The New York fruit cup better consist of a ... big apple.

  • Buffalo Bills (Highmark Stadium) *

  • Houston Texans (NRG Stadium)

  • Jacksonville Jaguars (EverBank Stadium) *

  • New York Giants (MetLife Stadium) *

  • New York Jets (MetLife Stadium) *

  • Carolina Panthers (Bank of America Stadium)

  • Cincinnati Bengals (Paycor Stadium)

  • Pittsburgh Steelers (Acrisure Stadium) *

  • Cleveland Browns (Huntington Bank Field) *

  • New Orleans Saints (Caesars Superdome)

    * Those marked with an asterisk allow you to bring in your own food

While the NFL has a long way to go when it comes to plant-based food offerings, vegan-friendly NFL stadiums like the Seattle Seahawks’ Lumen Field, the LA Rams’ and LA Chargers’ SoFi Stadium, and Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium are stepping up to accommodate non-meat options. And if your team is disappointing you, make your voice heard. Tell them you want some decadent dairy-free options like sheet pan ratatouille, Armenian stuffed eggplant, and bulgogi-spiced tofu wraps with kimchi slaw – or at least more Beyond Burgers.
