Press Release - MIAMI (August 23, 2023)SoBe Vegan, the trendy and casual vegan restaurant offering a modern twist on traditional American cuisine, has debuted a completely new menu to focus on ingredient-forward, clean, and made-from-scratch recipes. Helmed by newly appointed Collaborative Chef Horacio Rivadero, the chef-driven menu will feature a mix of all-natural ingredients and continue serving flavorful plant-based meals without compromising on taste.

With locations in Miami Beach’s charming South of Fifth neighborhood and inside the W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, SoBe Vegan was developed in 2020 by local entrepreneurs Kris Singh and Nick Abraczinskas who saw a unique opportunity to bring a fresh and tasty approach to the vegan diet phenomenon.

“We wanted to create a concept that changes the perception of eating ‘vegan’ to something that is enjoyable for everyone,” said Kris Singh. “Eating healthier food does not mean we have to sacrifice the flavors we love. SoBe Vegan makes eating vegan cuisine more relatable and less nuanced, while supporting a fit and fun lifestyle. We are thrilled to introduce Chef Horacio to the team and continue serving the South Florida community with a more refined, ingredient-led and all-natural approach.”

Previously the executive chef at Plant Miami, Chef Horacio Rivadero now brings his experience to SoBe Vegan as a collaborative chef. In 2012, Rivadero was named Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chef for the Gulf Region, and in 2014 he was a James Beard Award Best Chef: South semifinalist for his work as executive chef at The District. Rivadero’s passion for creating flavorful yet healthy dishes is reflected through his commitment to locally grown ingredients in the restaurant’s menu – which often varies, taking advantage of what is freshest in the market that day.

Rivadero’s new menu features All Day Brunch, Light Bites, Bowls & Greens, Flatbreads, Mains, specialty shakes and organic gelato. Serving delicious twists on popular breakfast classics, the All Day Brunch has generous gluten-free options like the signature Banana Pancakes, made with a coconut and banana base, topped with sliced bananas, berry compote, botanically-infused maple syrup and powdered sugar; and the Mung Bean Omelette, made with fermented mung bean, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, grilled red peppers, mozzarella cheese, and chives, topped with arugula salad, tossed in cilantro aioli.

The daily menu includes a plant-based twist on universal favorites such as SoBe V Burger their signature burger made with their house-made superfood burger patty, toasted pretzel bun, arugula, cilantro aioli, pico de gallo, avocado mash, and choice of arugula salad or french fries; Mac & Cheese, made with gluten-free pasta, SoBe Vegan’s cheese sauce and crunchy garnishings. For a protein-filled meal, guests can enjoy the Taco Bowl, made with walnut picadillo, brown rice, romaine hearts, pico de gallo, avocado, crispy tortilla, sunflower lime crema dressing, and microgreens. The Breakfast Bowl is also high in protein containing tofu scramble, superfood breakfast sausage, baby arugula, grilled red peppers, caramelized onions, roasted red potatoes, avocado, pickled fresnos, and cilantro aioli.

Crispy flatbreads are all made gluten and soy-free with cauliflower crust, including the Mushroom Cauliflower Flatbread, made with marinara sauce, mozzarella “cheese,” sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, kale, and crispy garlic. For Light Bites, guests can opt for lighter, homemade dishes like our Jackfruit Tacos, taking a classic plant-based ingredient and adding a burst of flavor with our pico de gallo, pickled red onion, sunflower lime crema and cilantro to garnish.

SoBe Vegan also offers specialty milkshakes in a variety of flavors like chocolate, cookies & cream and strawberry; and creamy, homemade gelatos in delectable flavors such as cookies & cream, vanilla, mango and more. In addition to shakes and organic juices, SoBe Vegan serves a variety of local and national vegan-friendly beers as well as a spread of domestic and international vegan-friendly wines.

The South of Fifth location boasts a 1,150 square-foot space, includes an indoor counter and outdoor seating areas and can accommodate up to 80 guests. Similarly, the Fort Lauderdale location offers 2,000 square-feet. SoBe Vegan is available for guests on-the-go, and can be found exclusively on Uber Eats. The approachable, casual eatery has also introduced biodegradable packaging, staying on brand with improving the restaurant industry’s eco-friendly, sustainability practices.
