When did you launch the business?

August 2022

What led you to where you are today?

Interest was instilled through GFI India's ISPIC competition in which I worked on strain improvement of medicinal fungi for biomass fermentation based crab cakes. This was followed by leading GFI's Alt Protein Project at the University of Delhi and at the National University of Singapore.

What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey?

The nuances of deep-tech and its difference with an FMCG consumer-first business. We intended to be both which was a huge mistake and often kept us distracted. The business model, the consumers, the investors everything is different.

What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far?

To not focus on mycelium as a replacement of pet food as owing to an absence of expertise and experience, we'd have to be manufacturers, thus requiring very high funding requirements.

What can you help the VEGPRENEUR community with?

- Providing a Gen-Z perspective on the future of food as I'm leading GFI's Alt Protein Project.
- Giving insights on the Indian and Asian market.
- Acting as a student leader in the Alt Protein field.

How can the VEGPRENEUR community help you?

- Press coverage is always appreciated
- Genuine feedback on product pricing, positioning and trials would be appreciated
- Fundraising support is also nice

Fun fact about you:

I received scholarships exceeding $480,000
