Want to grow a successful business?

Here are some tips shared by Shark and KIND Snacks Founder Daniel Lubetzky on LinkedIn:

Three core pieces of advice that took Daniel from a minnow to a Shark:

👉1. Find people who will tell it to you straight.

Success isn’t built by surrounding yourself with yes-men. I always encourage honest feedback to reveal blind spots and drive growth. Surround yourself with people who push you to be better every day.

Having people who challenge you doesn’t mean surrounding yourself with negativity—it’s about finding those who genuinely want to see you succeed. These individuals won’t just point out areas for improvement; they’ll celebrate your wins, offer constructive solutions, and remind you of your strengths when self-doubt creeps in. They create a balance of support and accountability, fostering an environment where growth feels both achievable and rewarding. By building these authentic connections, you’ll not only develop resilience but also gain the clarity and confidence to pursue your goals unapologetically. This is the first step to growing your successful business.

👉 2. Trust your vision and take calculated risks for it.

I once took a $200 million gamble to buy back KIND Snacks shares because I believed in its potential. It was a calculated risk, and it paid off. Believe in your vision but always do your homework before taking the leap.

Taking calculated risks doesn’t mean acting impulsively—it’s about balancing boldness with preparation. Study the market, gather insights, and anticipate challenges, but don’t let analysis paralysis hold you back. Trusting your vision requires confidence in both your idea and your ability to adapt. Not every risk will yield immediate success, but even setbacks can be valuable lessons that strengthen your strategy and resolve. When you take the leap with preparation and purpose, you position yourself to turn potential into opportunity.

👉 3. Put away your phone and computer.

Take a long walk or set aside time to reflect. Ask yourself: What do I want? What truly matters to me? What do I want to achieve in life?

Disconnecting from the constant noise of technology creates space for clarity and self-discovery. Reflection allows you to reconnect with your core values, identify your passions, and prioritize what truly matters. It’s in these moments of quiet that you can realign your actions with your long-term goals and uncover fresh perspectives. Taking time to step back not only enhances your focus but also fosters creativity and mindfulness, helping you approach challenges with a renewed sense of purpose and direction. Make this practice a regular habit, and watch how it transforms your ability to lead with intention.

Success takes effort, so make sure you’re pursuing something that brings both happiness and fulfillment.

Building a successful business requires more than just hard work—it demands passion and a clear sense of purpose. When you love what you do, challenges become opportunities to learn rather than obstacles to fear. Fulfillment fuels resilience, making it easier to stay committed during difficult times.

Take the time to identify what truly excites and motivates you, and align your business goals with that vision. Not only will this make your work more enjoyable, but it will also inspire others to believe in your mission, creating a stronger foundation for long-term success.
