Meet Tobias Gunzenhauser

As Europe's first digital native vertical brand for child food, we are about to change a whole category for good. All our products are 100% organic, natural, and free from additives. We developed every recipe together with dozens of helpful moms, dads, their little ones, nutritionists, and pediatricians.

What led you to where you are today?

Before we founded yamo we have been vegan for a month in a self-experiment. During this time we had to look very carefully at the ingredients of products while shopping. We noticed that there were too many additives, sugar, and chemicals in many supermarket foods. In our naivety, we turned to what we thought was the most natural and healthy food category available in the supermarket: baby food. We were shocked by the high sugar content, the lack of freshness due to the eternally long shelf life, and the additives in the existing range of baby food.

What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey? 

Everything takes twice as long as you think and everything is twice as expensive. No, jokes aside: a startup is a real action-packed roller coaster. The highs are very high but the lows are also pretty low. The best thing is, you're constantly learning, evolving, and working on your vision.
