Title of the Role: Specialist, Leadership & Foundation Giving

Short Description of Role:

  • The Leadership & Foundation Giving Specialist is responsible for supporting Farm Sanctuary’s Mid-Level donor cultivation strategy, including individual and foundation donors, and creating written cultivation and stewardship materials for the Development team.

    Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a portfolio of approximately 300-400 mid-level donors and prospects, including both individuals and foundations.
    Provide quarterly personalized cultivation touches, including phone, email and paper mail.

  • Secure and upgrade annual gifts from assigned donors.

  • Upgrade selected donors to the Mid-Level donor level.
    Identify prospects in the mid-level portfolio with Major Gift potential and recommend assignment to the Major Gifts team.

  • Help plan and attend Hilda Club annual events and possible future annual benefits in New York and Southern California.

  • Coordination with staff across the organization on the development of proposals, reports, bi-monthly newsletters, and any additionally needed written materials for use of the Development team in donor cultivation and stewardship.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of non-profit fundraising and individual relationship management experience. Experience also managing foundation relationships is highly considered.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills necessary to tailor messages to various audiences and be an effective representative for Farm Sanctuary.
    Strong project management skills; ability to set priorities, and work independently are essential.

  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with volunteers, staff, and the senior leadership team.

  • Excellent analytical and organization skills.

  • Experience working with Constituent Management Relationship databases preferred.

    Job Specifications:

    Terms of employment: Regular, exempt, full-time position
    Reports to: TBD
    Direct reports: None
    Location: Remote in the United States
    Pay: $55,000-60,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
    Travel: 2-3 times per year
    Other considerations: Flexibility to work some weekends and evenings consistent with a front-line fundraising role required.
